I love myself an advent calender. Chocolate ones, Lego ones, just plain old picture ones. With that in mind I have combined this festive favourite with something else I love, comics. For every day right up to Christmas eve I will be posting a panel from a new Petunia Rascal X-mas escapade in which she goes shopping for gifts in her typical manner.

Petunia Rascal: The Cupcake!

I've teamed-up with purveyors of ultra-tasty treats, Cake-a-doodle Tu, to create PETUNIA RASCAL CUPCAKES!! Obviously I had no hand in the cake making process (which would be a disaster) but I did supply the illustrations which were printed on to wafer paper. I've already tried one and they are tasteeee. Even if Bill Pukes didn't look too happy as I chomped his face in half.

This weekend T'Sao Wei and myself are returning to the Thought Bubble comic convention. We had really good time last year and can't wait to visit again. We'll be at table 112 in the Saviles Hall. Spiralling, my new web comic over on Smackjeeves, is going to be a home for short, slightly off-kitler comics. The first of these, Brainworm, is about an agent of evil who enters the mind of a dying man to cause some serious grief.

Following that, a few weeks later, will be the start of Doll Parts a story of two segmented lovers and the masked hunter after them.

MCM Expo - This Weekend

This weekend I'm going to be at MCM Expo London's Comic Village with T'sao Wei and Thuc-Chinh To. I'll have copies of Petunia Rascal and Neon Loneliness available as well as a small number of Monday's Child... books. Monday's Child (a preview of which you can see here) is a reimagining of the traditional nursery rhyme but with added evil gourmet grannies. It's written and handmade by Thuc-Chinh with illustrations by myself.
